About 2 years ago, I encountered with Jazz Chants for the first time. I applied for a Jazz Chants seminar. I still clearly remember about the seminar. The method introduced there was completely different from the ones I learned before. ’Spoken English’ and ‘natural English’ are the key words in Jazz Chants. Anyway, my heart was grabed. Since then I’ve used textbooks of Jazz Chants in my English lessons.
For Japanese people the most difficult thing in terms of learning Enlish would be the language rhythem. Kids love singing and chanting. It seems easier for my students to acquire the English rhythem by using Jazz Chants.
I myself need to learn more about Jazz Chants.
