昨日、私たち家族と妹家族とで大川クルーズを楽しんできました。

ケーキセット付きのとても優雅なクルーズでした。帝国ホテル前の桟橋から船に乗り込み１時間弱素敵な時間を過ごすことができました。

給仕をしてくれた男性はすべて帝国ホテルのホテルマンで、いただいたケーキも　’Imperial Hotel’　の名前がチョコレートに刻んでありました。

甲板に出ると、３６０度、周囲の風景を見渡すことができとっても気持がよかったです。

船から見る景色というのはまた格別で、子供達も行き交う船や、向こう岸にいる人たちに手を振っておおはしゃぎ。電車好きの甥は京阪電車が見えるとハイテンションに！

大川沿いは両岸に桜が植えられていて、桜の名所と言えば？と聞かれたら私はまず第一に、ここを勧めるでしょう。

まだ、３分咲きというところでしたが、中には満開の木もあり、かわいらしいお花を見て心うきうき。

ここに連れてきてくれた主人に感謝・感謝です。

Today my kids and I went to ‘Crayon House’, a book store in Esaka, Suita to participate a workshop of reading an English picturebook.    A friend of mine and her kids also attended it.

The book title is “The Happy Egg” written by Ruth Krauss.

I would say it was the first time for me to listen to a lecture about how to read aloud English picture books.   The lecturer is a chief cordinator of English picture books sold in ‘Crayon House’.  She also translate several books from English to Japanese.

She pointed out 4 important things to do when we read the book ‘The Happy Egg’.

First, we should follow a sentence on a page with our forefingers while reading.

Second, keep in mind to put a lot of feeling into the sentence.

Third, when we come across a word or words that we can’t read, we just say “Munya, munya,” I don’t know the proper word in English, we just bubble those words.

And lastly, the most important thing of all is we need to read aloud the book again at home within 24 hours from the time when the workshop started.    And she recommended us to read it to  anything alive.   It could be a goldfish or a plant.    

I learned a lot there.

After that,  we played at the park near the bookshop.  we stayed there nearly 4 hours.  I haven’t seen the friend lately so we talked a lot each other.

It was a good day.

World Baseball Classicで日本が見事優勝しました。

選手の皆さん本当におめでとうございます。そして、私たちに勇気と希望を与えていただきありがとうございます。

久しぶりにこんなにテレビにかじりついて野球を見ました。どちらが勝ってもおかしくない程の接戦で、手に汗握るとはまさにこのことなんでしょう。

小学生の頃にソフトボールをしていて自分が高校生ぐらいまでは「高校野球」や「プロ野球」もよくテレビで見ていました。

それ以降は野球への関心も薄れ、父が見ているプロ野球中継もほとんど見ることがなくなりました。

そんな中で野球観戦に久しぶりに燃えたのは私が就職して4年目の夏です。ある大学の事務として就職した私は「広報課」に異動になり、その年、付属の高校が甲子園出場を果たしたのです。マスコミ対応のみならず、直接甲子園に出向いて写真撮影を行うなど、試合を見ながらの応援は「感動」という言葉だけでは言い表せない、最高の体験をさせていただきました。

試合は順調に勝ち進み、決勝まで進みました。決勝で、松坂投手率いる横浜高校に負けてしまいましたが、あの時の感動は今思い出すだけでも体が震えてきます。

今日、「韓国」対「日本」の試合を見て、その時のことを思い出しました。

I went to a shoe shop named “POISSON”  to buy a new pair of shoes for my son.  

This is the first time in 2 years to visit that shop.   When I first knew about the shop was 4 years ago.  

Since  my son didn’t seem to start to walk at the age of 18 months,  after having had a consultation with a doctor at a medical check,  I was told that my son should be examined throughly at a big hospital.   Then the doctor wrote  a  referral to the Saiseikai Hospital in Suita.

At the hospital, he had his brain checked with CT.   Then a doctor suggested us to go to ”Ryoikuen” attached to the hospital where disabled people take various trainings.   

He had gone to the institute once a week for about 6 months.   In that period it was hard for me both physically and mentally.   Please read the post I wrote about that time.  

One day, during the training,  a trainer in charge introduced me the shoe shop “POISSON”.   There are only a few shoe shops in Osaka that sell good shoes for foot.  According to him, “POISSON” was one of them.

Almost all shoes in that shop are made in Italy or Germany.   When we first visited that shop, a cleak asked me several questions about my son.   30 minutes passed before choosing which shoes was best for him.

Since then I bought a few pairs of shoes there.  

Thanks to that training and shoes of  “POISSON”, he is able to run now.

今日は家族4人で、お茶会に行ってきました。家の近くにある「旧西尾家住宅」で催されるそのお茶会は、年に4回開催されています。

昔の庄屋さんだった「旧西尾家住宅」は、1300坪の広大な敷地に母屋、離れ、倉があり、お茶室も5つもある、それはそれは立派なお屋敷でした。

今は吹田市が管理しています。今回、このお茶会は葉書で応募して見事抽選で当たり、参加することが出来ました。

5つのお茶室の内の「積翠庵」というお茶室でお点前を頂戴しました。京都にある藪内流のお家元と同じお茶室を模した造りだそうです。

「寄合」から、いったん外に出て、苔むすお庭の中を歩いて行き「腰掛け待合」でしばらく待った後、お迎えに来ていただいて、その後つくばいで手を清めてにじり口からお茶室に入っていく、という本格的なお茶会でした。

今日のお菓子は「菜の花」を彩った主菓子と「さくら」と「ちょうちょ」の形をしたお干菓子でした。どちらもとっても美しく、味も最高でした。

そのあと、2服ずつお茶をいただきました。お点前さんは着物姿の男性でとても素敵でした。お道具類はどれもすばらしく、お正客をつとめていただいた方も、長年茶道をされているのか知識が豊富で、お取次の方とのお話を聞いていてとても勉強になりました。

お茶会終了後、お屋敷の見学をさせていただきました。ボランティアの案内係りの人に約1時間、説明を受けながら周りました。

子供達にとっても貴重な経験だったと思います。

子供茶道教室がここで開催されているとのことなので、さっそく申し込みたいと思います。

昨日結局、妹の２人の子供たちのうち、上の子だけがお泊りすることになりました。

朝食後、娘と姪はアイロンビーズ作りに夢中です。

その後、息子も加わり百人一首の坊主めくりをしているところです。

お昼前に、お姉ちゃんのバレエに一緒について行きました。長い間、レッスンの見学をしていなかったので、長女も含め全員上手になっていたのでびっくり。

昼食後は、下の子の体操教室に行ってきました。

楽しい１日でした。

今日は昨日のぽかぽか陽気とうってかわって、肌寒く風の強い１日でした。

祭日だというのに妹に仕事が入り、子供たちを見てほしいということで、妹の子供２人と私たち家族で万博にある、国立民族学博物館に行ってきました。

そこは私の主人も私も大好きな場所で、何度も訪れています。

何度行っても、心が落ち着き、私にとっては自分を深く見つめることができる空間です。

茶道を愛する私としては、特別展の「千家十職」も、とっても見たかったのですが、子供連れだと時間の限界で今回はパスしました。

I went to National Museum of Ethnology in ‘Banpaku Park’ with my family and my sister’s two kids today.  

I love museums and National Museum of Ethnology is one of my favorite museums in Japan.   I can spend hours looking at exhibits there.

I think by learning other countries’ ways of life, we can respect people from other countries.  

Moreover whenever I visit there, I can look into myself deeply.   I mean I can be honest and regain self confidence.

今日は息子が通う幼稚園の卒園式でした。息子は年中組なのであと１年あるのですが、お世話になったお友達やそのお母さん方とお別れすると思うと少し寂しい気持ちになりました。

でも、子供たちの新しい旅立ちをお日様も祝福してくれたのか、最高のぽかぽか陽気に恵まれて素晴らしい式になったことでしょう。

今日は幼稚園までの直接お迎えだったので、息子と手をつなぎながら帰宅途中、ふと「こうやって手をつないで一緒に歩けるのは後何年あるんだろうなあ？」と、なんとも言えぬ感情が込み上げてきました。

このまま時間が止まればいいのに・・・

子供たちがまだ小さい今が一番幸せなんだろうなあ、と感傷に浸りながら、息子の手をさらに強く握りしめてしまいました。

On my way to CEPIO, an English pronunciation school,  I came across a beautiful cherry blossom.  I quickly took a camera out of my bag and took a picture.  The cherry blossom’s pale pink in the blue sky was exquisite. 

From time to time, while walking on streets, I can’t help feeling gratitude to nature.  In Japanese we say “Kokoro-ga-Arawareru”. ‘Kokoro’ is a heart and ‘Arawareru’ is to be washed. 

Since my kids’ spring vacation will start soon, I can’t take lessons at CEPIO for more than one month.  So, I decided to review what I learned so far during the vacation.

I’ve just come back home from my son’s ballet lesson.   He started to take ballet lessons just before he became 3 years old.

Now he is five years old.  He doesn’t mind being surrounded by girls. 

He is a slow learner but he seems happy dancing ballet.

My daughter is taking her lesson right now.
