My Son Got Chickenpox!
Posted by hirokokashiba | Under As a mother Sunday Mar 16, 2008
My son got chickenpox last Friday.
Since he was vaccinated against chickenpox, his condition is not so bad or if anything, he is really vigorous, therefore it’s a little bit hard for him to stay at home all day long on such a beautiful day.
I was supposed to participate in the Flower Arrangement and the Tea Ceremony Experience today, but because of his disease, I couldn’t make it.
He has to stay at home for 5 days so he can’t participate in a graduation ceremony and the closing ceremony at kindergarten. Then spring vacation is followed.
As a matter of course, I can’t go to Eiken class tomorrow. It’s quite unfortunate.

I am so sorry to hear that Daichan got chikenpox. I was surprised to hear that he was vaccinated and still got chikenpox. It must be hard for him and for you to stay at home for five days. I hope he will be better soon.
Hi, Masako! Today, the graduation ceremony was held at Kandai kindergarten. One year has passed since our children graduated from it. Unlike today, it was a very cold day, wasn’t it?
Sorry he got chickenpox! But that’s actually a good thing. I’ve always heard that doctors encourage people who have young children to let them play with other children that have chickenpox. That way they can get it while they are young instead of later when they are older. Older people who contract it tend to have worse cases.
How was class today? My son had his kindergarten graduation today, so I was unable to teach today. Did Jeff fill in? Hope you had a good lesson. Also, when is the party? Please let me know.
Thank you Kyle. I was’n able to attend the class yesterday because of my son’s chickenpox. According to the email from Kiyomi that I got last night, we are going to talk about God in one of the classes in April.
Congratulations on your son’s graduation! Is ‘Congratulations’ in this case a right word?
Hi, Hiroko,
How’s your son?
The day before yesterday, I met Hayashi sensei on the street! She said they had the graduation ceremony on that day! She saw my son and said “hello” to him. I was really surprised because she never had my son in her class, but still remembers him. I felt sorry for not realizing who she was until she told me her name.
Hey Hiroko! Thanks for the graduation wish of congratulations. Yes, that is the correct way to say that. Noah will be going into 1st grade in April. Wow, how time flies! Kids grow so quickly! Keep an eye on your kids. Before you know it, they’ll be graduating high school and going onto college.
