Jazz Chants, again

Tuesday Nov 27, 2007

In september 2006, I joined a Jazz Chants seminar for the first time.   As soon as the seminar started, my heart was grabed by the rhythm.   Since then I tried to participate in every Jazz Chants seminar and I applied for the certificate course that began last July.   There is one report left to finish the course.   So far, I met wonderful English teachers like whom I want to be in the future.  Whenever I met those teachers, I was stimulated and got power from them.

Hello Hiroko, I also met Carolyn Graham and I also love jazz chants. She is a wonderful lady and her books are great. I am also writing my own educational books and songs, using music to teach English. When I told Carolyn about my writing she was very helpful and gave me lots of advice. Do you use the songs too, or mostly the chants? I know some teachers worry about singing. How about you? Take care and best wishes.

Hi! Soul Sistah,
Thank you for your comment. I use the songs in my lessons, too. I like to sing and dance with the music by Carolyn Graham. I think children seem to remember English words easily by singing songs. Sometimes boys don’t like to dance but they love to sing songs. For me, Jazz Chants method is the best way to teach English for the moment.
